An Italian website and journal. In Italy there have been monographs, collective works and a significant number of international conferences and special issues that several journals devoted to the French thinker. However, there still does not seem to exist a recognised research platform on which scholars in Italy and elsewhere may interact on a continuous and organized way. The creation of such a platform represents the core of this project.

Biopolitics network This is a web-based facility hosted by Lancaster University. The network links academics engaged in the emerging field of research on biopower and its relation to security. The network currently has more than 60 academics involved from across the globe, with further links to key research institutions, and eleven aligned networks. It seeks to enhance interaction amongst scholars whose work is related to Foucault's ideas of biopower in relation to security. In particular the network wants to stimulate debate around Foucault's lecture series Security, Territory, Population, The Birth of Biopolitics; and 'Society Must be Defended'.
